Parents in Nasarawa State have appealed to the state Governor, Abdullahi Sule, to waive school fees for their children as public and private schools across the state prepare for resumption by October 5.
They made the call against the backdrop of the crippling effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to journalists on the resumption of schools in the state, one Emmanuel Abashon, a farmer and father of seven, said 4 of his 7 children are in higher institution.
It was the same story for Veronica Uwankwe, a widow, with four undergraduates at three Nasarawa State-owned higher institutions.
