Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba Adewale Passes Away after 15years Rule

The Kingdom of Epe is in mourning following the passing of its 19th ruler, Oba Shefiu Ọlatunji Adewale, also known as the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom.

The monarch was 86 years old at his time of death.

Though no official statement has been made with regards to the cause of his death but many believe the monarch died a restful death in his residence at Epe Kingdom palace.

Oba Adewale, who ascended to the throne in 2010, was renowned for his dedication to the development of Epe Kingdom.

His wisdom, leadership, and public service earned him great respect from his subjects.

The monarch was also a staunch advocate for peace, consistently emphasizing the importance of unity among the Yoruba natives inhabiting Epe.

He firmly believed in maintaining harmony and avoided broaching the subject of dichotomy between Ijebus and Ekos.

Before becoming king, Oba Adewale served as a commissioner in the civil service commission.

His journey to the throne began as Otun Balogun, and he followed the traditional protocols that reflect the rich cultural heritage and governance of the Yoruba people.

Oba Adewale will be buried today according to Islamic rites, marking the end of an era in Epe Kingdom’s history.
