The chairman of Ikosi Isheri, Engineer Abdul Fatai Oyesanya gave up the ghost today, Tuesday January 21,2020 at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) ikeja after a brief illness.
Mr Oluwaseyi Odufowokan, chief press secretary of the late council chairman, told the news Agency that Oyesanya died after a brief illness.
A senior officer of the council, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the death, saying, “he has been battling with an undisclosed illness since December last year before he finally succumbed to the cold hands of death.”
Oyesanya was a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was first elected Chairman of Ikosi Isheri LCDA in 2011 and was reelected in 2017.
As at the time of writing this report, the late council chairman is being buried according to the Islamic rites.
Sources in the council said that the burial rites were taking place at his country home in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
