Over 500 residents get food support from iCare Foodbank for month of June

No fewer than 500 residents of Ikorodu Federal Constituency got food support for the month of June 2022 from the iCare Foodbank of Rep. Babajimi Benson, the Chairman of the House Committee on Defense.

The event which took place at the lawmaker’s constituency office on Saturday, had in attendance members of the political class who came out in solidarity with the mission of Rep. Babajimi Benson to reduce hunger in Ikorodu Division.

The iCARE Foodbank is an initiative of the iCare Foundation that distributes food and grocery products to individuals and vulnerable families within Ikorodu Division on monthly basis. These items are packaged in a bag called ‘APO AANU’.

The beneficiaries of the Foodbank programme include widows, widowers, the aged and the less privileged people who are selected from communities across Ikorodu Division, after nomination by some individuals and organizations.

Since its creation in 2016, the Foodbank has fed over 30,000 households in Ikorodu in almost six years.
