Osun2018: Adeleke Family Extends Helping Hands To Inmates, Secures Release Of Detainees

The Adeleke family on Tuesday secured the release of 200 inmates and also donated relief materials to 700 prisoners at the Ilesa prisons, Osun State.

It was gathered that the philanthropic act was carried out by the Springtime Development Foundation owned by Head of the Family, Dr Adedeji Adeleke.

It was learnt that the Foundation came to the rescue of the prisoners after a research conducted revealed that the prisoners were sleeping on bare floor of their cell rooms.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the inmates whose release were secured were those who were unable to pay their respective fine levied against them. None of the released inmate was convicted of crime related offence.

The fine ranged from N5,000 and upwards was paid by the foundation.

Vice Chairman of the Foundation, Mr Banji Adesuyi stated that the plight of the prisoners came to the notice of Dr Adeleke when he visited a prominent politician who is serving his jail term in the prison.

He also disclosed that the Foundation will see to the vocational training of the prisoners to help them become useful to the society whenever they finish serving their jail terms.
