By Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Comrade Emmanuel Adebisi over allegations that he diverted 70 bags of rice.
The civil society coalition in the state, represented by its Secretary, Comrade Olowu Emmanuel, reported that the rice, intended for them, was never delivered.
Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed confirmed the suspension in a statement on Wednesday.
The Governor stated that the suspension would remain in place pending the outcome of an investigation led by his Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye.
Social media reactions have been critical, with one user commenting, “While his mates are diverting billions, he diverts rice,” highlighting broader concerns about mismanagement in public office.
