The Osun State government has declared Friday 20th of August 2021, a work-free day to mark this year’s Isese day.
This was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal.
The state government stated clearly that there won’t be fanfare or any kind of elaborate physical celebration for the festival.
According to the statement, it is advised that residents of Osun state follow all COVID-19 protocols duly i.e using of nose mask, practicing social distancing, avoiding mass gatherings and other well-known COVID-19 protocols.
Recall, on the 18th of August, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recorded 1149 new COVID-19 (in which 5 of these victims are Osun state residents) cases and 7 deaths were in Nigeria.
The statement went further to congratulate all traditional worshipers in the state advising then to continually support the Oyetola administration and emphasized the residents to continue to embrace the Omoluabi ethos and said that they observed all COVID-19 protocols before, during and after the festival.
