Nigeria’s Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has waded into political crisis in Imo State.
The nation’s number two citizen, on Wednesday, held a closed-door meeting with the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It would be recalled that Okorocha, a former governor of Imo State, is at loggerheads with his immediate successor, Governor Hope Uzodinma — who is also of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The Uzodimna-led administration recently seized a property belonging to Okorocha, worsening their existing political feud.
Okorocha, speaking with correspondents after meeting with the Vice-President, said the whole development was surprising to him.
“The whole thing to me sounds like a movie, a joke, a dream that does not reflect any practical reality, but I am a father, I’m a leader of that state and I am trying to make sure things don’t escalate beyond control.
“But for what has been done to me, I am human; I can bear it just for the purpose of peace to reign,” he said.
