Broadcaster and founder of Agidigbo FM, Oriyomi Hamzat, along with Naomi Silekunola, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, has been released on bail today.
This was disclosed on actress Biola Adebayo’s Instagram page, where she stated: “Congratulations to Oriyomi Hamzat, Naomi, and the school principal, released on bail.”
The incident leading to their arrest unfolded during a palliative distribution event organized as part of Prophetess Naomi’s children’s funfair program.
The sponsors of the event, Naomi Silekunola and Oriyomi Hamzat, were detained following the tragedy but have now been released from Agodi Prison, Ibadan, on bail.
At least 35 people, mostly children, lost their lives during the stampede, which has drawn widespread condemnation and calls for accountability.
The stampede occurred at the Islamic High School, Bashorun, during a Christmas party organized by WINGS (Women In Need of Guidance and Support), a foundation established by Silekunola.
