Information has it that the Senate’s lawyer was silent on why the plaintiff chose to discontinue Onnoghen’s case.
The lawyer to President Buhari, Maimuna Lami Shiro accompanied by Tijani Gazali, did not object to the plaintiff’s decision to withdraw the case, following which the court struck out the suit.

Yusuph Olaniyonu, the media aide to the Senate president, Bukola Saraki, in a statement on today said the decision follows the intervention of the NJC on the issue.
“The Senate has therefore decided to discontinue the case it filed in the Supreme Court. It should be noted that the case has been slated for hearing tomorrow,” the statement had said.
