A new chapter has begun at the Federal Fire Service as Deputy Controller General (DCG) Olumode Samuel Adeyemi officially took over as Controller General, succeeding Engr. Jaji O. Abdulganiyu, MIFireE, MNSE.
ACG A.U. Umar, Head of Corporate Services at the Headquarters, confirmed the handover in an official statement issued on Wednesday 13 August, 2025.
The brief but symbolic handing-over ceremony was held at the Controller General’s Office, Federal Fire Service Headquarters, Abuja.
In his remarks, CG Olumode expressed heartfelt appreciation for the contributions of his predecessor, highlighting Engr. Jaji’s role in transforming the Service.
He acknowledged the outgoing CG’s legacy and pledged to build upon the foundation laid during his tenure.
Olumode also called for unity and cooperation among officers and personnel of the Service, emphasizing that collective effort would be key to sustaining progress.
He assured Engr. Jaji of his openness to consultation and guidance when needed.
The ceremony marks a leadership transition aimed at continuity and consolidation of reforms within the Fire Service.
