The Delta State Government has announced on Wednesday further relaxation of the curfew imposed by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. The decision to restrict movement in the state was initially necessitated by the need to quell the violence that marked the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests after the peaceful demonstration was reportedly hijacked by hoodlums.
This development was disclosed in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chiedu Ibie.
“It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particular Deltans and residents, that Delta State Government has readjusted the time for the prevailing curfew imposed due to the disorderly conduct that followed the recent #EndSARS protest to a new period of 10pm-6am,” it reads in part.
“The new period takes effect from today, Wednesday, 4th November, 2020.”
