The Ogun State Government has initiated formal legal action against entertainer Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following the November 1st 2025 road crash in Sagamu that left two people seriously injured.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Justice, the government said it is expediting the prosecution process for the Sagamu incident, in which Mr Abiodun’s vehicle rammed into two motorcycles, injuring a rider and a female passenger.
According to the Ministry, the entertainer showed no remorse at the scene and attempted to drive away, leading to a confrontation with bystanders who attacked him before security operatives arrived.
The statement added that the Ogun State Police Command immediately opened an investigation while ensuring that the victims received medical attention and their privacy was protected.
The Ministry noted that the decision to proceed with prosecution is strengthened by Mr Abiodun’s involvement in another road crash on 23 November 2025 in Lekki, Lagos State. In that incident, his car reportedly veered dangerously and narrowly avoided hitting pedestrians. Authorities said this marks at least the third crash linked to him in the last two months.
According to the government, while some road traffic collisions can be settled through civil compensation, repeated dangerous conduct behind the wheel poses a broader threat to public safety. It described Mr Abiodun as a road user whose actions present a special danger, adding that video recordings of at least two of the crashes provide clear evidence.
Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed state prosecutors to conclude the review of the Sagamu case and proceed with a prompt arraignment. The Ministry confirmed that it is working closely with the Police to ensure the case advances without delay.
The government said the move follows growing public outcry and is aimed at protecting road users and reinforcing accountability on the roads.
