The governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun has awarded Miss Joy Oyinlola Adesina, who emerged the Best TV Graduating Student from the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU),Ile Ife, with a scholarship, a house and a sum of N5 Million.
Mr Abiodun had announced the rewards at the reception organised in honour of the student, on Wednesday and noted that the medical scholarship would be for her residency at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital.
He also noted that the awardee being the best medical graduate to have come out of the OAU is “an accomplishment, a rare feat that most of her peers can only dream of.”
Oyinlola scored 10 distinctions and won 9 top awards in her final exams.
In appreciation for the gestures extended to her by the State, miss Adesina thanked the governor and the state saying, ” I am very fulfilled”.
She thanked her uncle, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina for “his inspiration” and parents for their love and support to achieve the feat at the medical school.
