The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has ratified the suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel and Honourable Kunle Folarin over alleged anti-party activities.

The decision was taken at a State Working Committee (SWC) meeting held on Monday, August 19, and chaired by the State Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, with sixteen members present.

According to a statement signed by the party’s Director of Publicity, Nuberu Olufemi, the suspension followed recommendations from the Disciplinary Committees set up by the lawmakers’ wards in Sagamu Local Government.

Ward 4 had investigated Senator Daniel for alleged misconduct bordering on anti-party activities, while Ward 6 looked into similar allegations against Hon. Folarin.

Both party leaders were reportedly invited to appear before their respective committees to defend themselves but failed to honor the invitations, provide a written defense, or attend the disciplinary meetings.

The committees also alleged that the suspended members harassed party faithful, warned them against cooperating with the panels, and used their political influence to pressure petitioners to withdraw their complaints.

Following deliberations, the committees resolved to suspend the two politicians indefinitely and forwarded their recommendations to the SWC for approval.

The state leadership, after considering the reports, ratified the suspensions, stressing that the move was aimed at upholding discipline and protecting the integrity of the party’s constitution.
