Obaseki Is A Goner, As Ize-Iyamu Wins APC Ticket

 

The emergence of Ize-Iyamu may have foreclosed Governor Obaseki’s re-election bid.

Ize-Iyamu emerged the candidate of the party on the night of Tuesday, May 26, in Abuja through a consensus arrangement.

The re-election bid of Governor Godwin Obaseki may have hit the rock as another governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, emerged the party’s candidate for the next gubernatorial election in the state.

Serving as a former Secretary to the Government of Edo State, Osagie, on Tuesday night, at the party’s office in the Federal Capital Territory became a consensus candidate of the party.

The Pastor of Redeeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG) was presented by chairman of the screening committee, Senator Francis Alimikhena, the representative of Edo North Senatorial District.

At the party’s primary elections scheduled for 22 June, Osagie and Obaseki will compete for the ticket.

Osagie was presented as the consensus candidate by the Chairman of the party’s screening committee, Francis Alimikhena, who is a representative of Edo North Senatorial District.
