Abdulganiyu Vinod Obasa, son of Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, has reportedly taken over the duties of Agege Local Government Chairman, Hon. Tunde Azeez, who is said to be on medical leave, BlackBox Nigeria can confirmed.

Although details of Azeez’s health condition remain unclear, political sources and local reports suggest that the chairman has been away from public functions for some time due to undisclosed health challenges.

During the recent Lagos local government election period, PUNCH quoted party members confirming that Azeez was “currently unwell,” though no official diagnosis was made public.

The latest arrangement, according to party insiders, is intended to ensure continuity in governance and the smooth running of council activities during Azeez’s absence.

Abdulganiyu Vinod Obasa is expected to oversee administrative and political duties in the interim.

Neither the council nor Hon. Azeez’s media office has issued an official statement confirming the duration of the medical leave or the specific terms of Obasa’s interim role.

Meanwhile, residents and political watchers in Agege have reacted to the development with mixed opinions, some expressing support for continuity, while others have called for greater transparency regarding the chairman’s health status and the temporary transfer of power.
