The National Youth Service Corps management, Monday, announced that the passing-out for the 2019 Batch “B” Stream 1 Corps Members have been slated nationwide for Thursday, 28, May, 2020.
The corps management stated that the event shall be devoid of ceremonial parade as a result of the great threat and danger posed by the novel coronavirus.
In keeping with the COVID-19 protocol of social distancing, Certificates of National Service shall be issued to qualified Corps Members as the Local Government level.
Accordingly, a full complement of NYSC Officers have been mobilized for the distribution; whilst they shall operate from ten service points in each of the local government councils.
The Corps Management, explained that as a precautionary measure, the distribution shall be staggered for a period of ten days in the first instance, necessary to remove anxiety from concerned Corps Members.
The Management also warned Corps members to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 preventive measures as they attend the CNS
“Dear Corps Members, as you go for your CNS, remembers to ensure the strictest observance of discipline, anchored on orderliness, adherence to instructions, added to the rules of social distancing, use of facemask, hand sanitizers and proper washing of hands with liquid soap for at least ten seconds.
“Also, Corps Members who are not present in their state of service, need not violate the inter state travel ban, as you are advised to wait accordingly till the ban has been lifted.
“However, unclaimed certificates shall be returned to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja, two weeks after the lifting of the inter-state travel ban.” the management said.
