Veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has been plunged into deep mourning following the death of her only son, Ayomikun, at the age of 24.
The tragic news was first shared by fellow actor Odunlade Adekola, who took to social media to express his grief and offer condolences.
“This is a big LOSS. God will console you ma …… and the whole family E LE YI PO OOO,” Adekola wrote in an emotional post.
The circumstances surrounding Ayomikun’s death remain unclear, but the news has sent shockwaves through the Nollywood community, with colleagues and fans sending messages of sympathy to the bereaved actress.
Actor Femi Adebayo also paid tribute, writing:
“Life has written a line too heavy for the stage… Today, we mourn with our dear elder, a thespian whose heart now carries the weight no mother should bear. My thoughts and prayers are with you ma. May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus.”
Oluwaseun Moyo Oloketuyi, CEO of Best of Nollywood (BON) Ventures, confirmed the loss via Instagram on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, describing it as “such a sad day.”
Ayomeekun, born omobolanle oluwanisa ayomide is a Nigerian Afro-pop singer born, the only child of veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola and renowned comic actor Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Aluwe. While Aluwe has other children, Ayomeekun is Peju’s only child.
He began his music career in the early 2020s and was known for his notable tracks like “celebramos” which he made a live studio performance in 2024 and “Abena”.
His sudden death has plunged the family, fans and entertainment industry into mourning.
Ogunmola, a respected figure in the Nigerian movie industry, has yet to publicly comment on her son’s passing.
