Popular Nigerian actress Biola Adebayo has announced the arrival of a baby girl for her colleague, Adesanya Toyosi and her husband, Oyin Adejobi, revealing that the child was welcomed through surrogacy.
Adebayo shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on Saturday, expressing gratitude and joy as she disclosed she had become a godmother again. “I am a godmother again!!! Congratulations to all of us!” she wrote.
According to her, the baby was welcomed by Toyosi and her partner, Bola Oyinadejobi, after a journey that began in 2024.
She appreciated the role of their medical team, particularly a fertility specialist identified as Dr Ivie, whom she praised for being supportive throughout the process.
“Just welcome a bouncing baby girl through their surrogate mom,” Adebayo noted, adding that the journey to motherhood had been a collective effort involving close family, friends, and professionals.
The actress also expressed deep personal joy over the development, stating, “Aunty Toyosi is officially a mom today, my heart is full of gratitude.”
The announcement was accompanied by a photo showing Adebayo alongside the new parents and their newborn at what appeared to be a medical facility, drawing congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues across social media.
Surrogacy, though still a sensitive and evolving subject in Nigeria, has increasingly become an option for individuals and couples facing fertility challenges, with more public figures beginning to share their experiences openly.
The latest development adds to a growing number of testimonies within the entertainment industry, highlighting changing conversations around assisted reproduction and motherhood in the country.
