Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has been thrown into mourning following the heartbreaking loss of his son. The actor, known for his stellar performances in Yoruba cinema, shared the tragic news with fans and colleagues via an emotional Instagram post.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear Son. Champ,” Chatta wrote, expressing his pain and surrendering the tragedy to God.
The news has sent shockwaves through the Nollywood industry and beyond, with colleagues, fans, and followers flooding his comment section with messages of condolence and prayers. Actress Tawa Ajisefini wrote, “Haaaaa Subuhanallah. I’m so sorry uncle. Condolences,” while actor Jamiu Azeez added, “Haaaaaa God please have mercy on us. This is too much.”
This tragedy comes just months after Chatta opened up about a previous loss the death of his first child, a baby girl, many years ago. The actor revealed that financial hardship at the time prevented him from affording medical care, forcing him to bury his daughter in a wooden crate.

The devastating news also comes just days after Chatta joined the rest of Nollywood in mourning Ayomikun Omobolanle, the 24 year old son of veteran actors Sunday Omobolanle and Peju Ogunmola making the past week especially difficult for the grieving star.
