The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has come out to deny rumors that Speaker Mudashiru Obasa will be forced to resign.

According to APC spokesman Seye Oladejo, there was no arrangement for Obasa’s resignation as part of the terms of settlement during their negotiations.

In his words, “To the best of my knowledge, there was no arrangement for Obasa to resign as part of the terms of settlement during our negotiations”.

In fact, Oladejo stated that Obasa is expected to withdraw the lawsuit he filed against his colleagues in the interest of renewed peace and progress in the House and the party.

This move is seen as a step towards resolving the leadership crisis in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

It’s worth noting that there were initial reports that Obasa would resign as part of a deal to allow a new Speaker from Lagos West to take over. However, the APC has now clarified that there is no truth to these claims.
