By Nigeria’s Super Cop, Abba Kyari Wins Major Award
Celebrated Nigerian cop, Assistant Commissioner, Abba Kyari on Thursday was decorated as the IGP Outstanding Officer of the year.
According to Kyari, he was nominated for the Award by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris mni.
The prestigious award was presented to him by the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), and was handed over to him by the Oluwo of Iwo, His Royal Highness, Oba Rasheed Akanbi. Abba Kyari in recent times have been referred to as the worst nightmare that can happen to wanted criminals.
Kyari, who is the current head of the IGP Intelligence Response Unit has been instrumental in arresting major criminals in and around the country.
Among his high profile cases are that of kidnap kingpin, Evans and killing of Vampire, a notorious kidnapper that was rescued by his gang from an Owerri Court in Imo State.
Kyari was also responsible for tracking down high ranking criminals in Lagos State when he was in charge of the State’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
