Darasimi, otherwise known as Dada, the wife of popular comedian Ijoba Lande, has issued a public apology for her alleged infidelity.
Speaking in an emotional interview on Talk to B podcast on Saturday, Dara pleaded for forgiveness from her husband, Nigerians, and those disappointed by her actions.
“Ijoba Lande, don’t be upset with me. I’m also begging everybody that I have disappointed and Nigerians all over the world. This is not who I am, but I did not pray to make such a mistake again. And I will never walk close to it again. I beg you in the name of God, I’m so sorry, I’m very sorry,” she said.
Dara’s apology comes after a tumultuous period in her marriage, with her husband accusing her of having an affair with actor Baba Tee and other colleagues.
Baba Tee initially denied the allegations but later admitted to a brief sexual encounter with Dara and publicly apologized.
Mary Gold, who was both Lande’s manager and Dara’s best friend, also admitted to facilitating the encounter by taking Dara to Baba Tee’s house.
She has since sought forgiveness from Lande.
The public apology by Dara has sparked a mix of reactions, with some calling for forgiveness and others criticizing her actions.
