A cross-section of Nigerians have called out President Muhammadu Buhari’s government over the increase of petrol price to N151.56 per litre.
The Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC had earlier today announced the increment in the pump price of petrol which takes effect from today the 2nd of September.
The announcement has stirred reactions from Nigerians on social media accusing the Buhari-led government of inflicting hardship on citizens.
Some users on Twitter said the new pump price will result in a hike in food items and transportation which is unfair to Nigerians especially at a time when businesses are staggering due to COVID-19 pandemic.
