Nigerians call out El-Rufai’s son over comment on death sentence handed to a 22-year-old singer accused of blasphemy

Bashir El-Rufai, the son of Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has been caught in the ever busy two-way street of Twitter, after thanking God for the death sentence handed to a 22-year-old singer in Kano.

Reacting to the news that Yahaya Sharif-Aminu has been sentenced to death by hanging for blasphemy, Bashir El-Rufai wrote: “Alhamdulillah.”

“Alhamdulillah” means “praise be to God”, sometimes translated as “thank God”.
