Nigerian military personnel reportedly the Nigerian Air Force have invaded Ikeja Electric’s offices in Lagos State, assaulting staff members and disrupting operations.
The incident occurred at the company’s office on Ago Palace Way, Okota, Isolo, Lagos, and was also reported at Ikeja Electric’s head office in Ikeja, the Lagos State capital.
The invasion is linked to a dispute between Ikeja Electric and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over unpaid debts.
The NAF owes Ikeja Electric millions of naira, and the power supply to the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Ikeja was disconnected two weeks ago.
According to reports, an agreement was in place for the NAF to pay ₦60 million monthly for 10 to 12 hours of daily electricity supply.
However, the Air Force failed to meet its financial obligations, leading to the disconnection.
The attack has created fear among Ikeja Electric employees, with many in hiding and some refusing to resume duty due to concerns about further aggression.
Ikeja Electric offices remain shut, with no official response from the Nigerian Air Force regarding the allegations
