By Nigerian Girl Stranded In Lebanon As Maid Cries Out To Dabiri-Erewa, Diaspora Commission For Repatriation #IWD2020
What looks like a quest for greener pasture is turning sore for Thomas Grace Aina, a 24-year old Nigerian who is now trapped in Lebanon working as a maid.
In a private chat with BlackBox Nigeria as part of activities marking the International Women’s Day 2020, calls on the Federal Government of Nigeria to save her life.
Aina, an indigene of Edo State said she was a fashion designer in Nigeria before travelling to Lebanon.
Currently living at El Omura in Lebanon with a couple identified as Charbel and Rita Bou Abdo who have collected her passport, phone and turned her into a slave. Aina is crying out to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) headed by Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa to rescue her.
“Please I want Honourable Dabiri to rescue me, I want to leave this place, sir, I don’t have strength again to work. I am having chest pain and she (her boss) is still pushing me and dragging my clothes to work”, she told BlackBox Nigeria correspondent.
When asked how she got to Lebanon in the first place, she said he was not duly informed of the actual work she would be doing.
She said it was one agent simply identified as Asegbe (she can not get his full name and number again) who she met through a Nigeria Immigration Service staff by name Philip at the Ibadan passport office.
All efforts to negotiate her way out has proved abortive as her captors said they can only release her if she pays all the money paid to the agent to bring her to Lebanon and also be ready to pay for her fare out of Lebanon.
Aina told BlackBox Nigeria Correspondent on the phone that she has a wound on her leg that her masters are not allowing her to treat, calling on the Federal Government to please help her out of the bondage.
