One Akpoghene Edeno who spent 12 years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit has been called by the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme court of Nigeria.

While in prison, he wrote the West African Senior School Examinations (WASSCE), and immediately proceeded to University of Benin where he studied law after his discharge and acquittal in 2012.

Edeno’ story was shared on Instagram by his childhood friend, Charles Mallamobi, who applauded him for making something out of his misfortune.

“His story is a testament of how indomitable the determined human spirit is. He could have been bitter at the society for the injustice of suffering for an offence he didn’t commit. But he chose to show up and face the challenges of life”. Mallamobi wrote.
