NIGERIAN ARMY COMMISSIONS RESIDENTIAL APARTMENT FOR SOLDIERS AT IKEJA CANTONMENT

The Chief of Army Staff, Nigerian Army, Lt Gen TY Buratai today commissioned 7 units of Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) Quarters at Ikeja Army Cantonment in Lagos.
The General Officer Commanding, 81 Division, Maj Gen JO Irefin , who represented the COAS at the commissioning ceremony, after handing over keys of the house to some of the beneficiaries, reiterated the COAS’ commitment to providing descent and furnished accommodation for its personnel. The blocks of flat, according to him, will ameliorate the acute shortage of accommodation for troops.
General Commanding Officer ,81, Division ,Major General JO Irefin ,said ,”This is the first time this is happening in the Nigeria Army.
“It has never happened before in the Nigerian Army.
” The Chief of Army Staff ,Lt General Ty Buratai ,is really doing wonderful job.
“That is to let you know that he has passion for the people in the Military.
” When I approached him about this project, he asked ,if the place is furnished ,I told him no,immediately, he instructed me ,that ,that place must be well furnished.
The project which was embarked by the Nigerian Army Special Projects Department was supervised by the 45 Engineer Brigade.
Present at the commissioning ceremony were the Commander 9 Brigade, Brig Gen Musa Awal Etsu-Ndagi, Commander 45 Engineer Brigade, Brig Gen A Salako, Chief of Staff, Headquarters 9 Brigade, Col MI Ibrahim, Staff Officers of the Divisional and Brigade Headquarters and family members of beneficiaries as well Barracks community.
