Nigeria’s Super Eagles delivered a commanding performance in the Round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, overpowering Mozambique 4–0 to secure a place in the quarter‑finals of the tournament.
The match at the Fès Sports Complex saw Nigeria dominate from the start, with Ademola Lookman opening the scoring early in the game after receiving a fine pass and confidently finding the back of the net.
Veteran forward Victor Osimhen then continued his tournament form by adding two goals, one before halftime and another early in the second half, giving Nigeria a comfortable 3–0 lead.
Late in the second half, Akor Adams capped the scoring with a composed finish to make it 4–0, sealing the Nigerian victory and their place in the last eight.
The Super Eagles had entered the knockout stage with a flawless group record, having topped Group C with wins over Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.
With this resounding win, Nigeria will now prepare to face their quarter‑final opponent, as the competition for the AFCON 2025 title intensifies.
