Nigeria Recalls Ambassador to South Africa, Withdrew From World Economic Forum on Africa

Following the xenophobic attacks on Nigerian Citizens in South Africa, the Nigerian Ambassador to South Africa, Kabiru Bala has been recalled as Nigeria also pulls out of the World Economic Forum on Africa scheduled to take place from 4—6 September 2019 in Cape Town, South Africa.

This action is targeted towards registering Nigeria’s government utmost displeasure in the ongoing xenophobia against Nigeria citizens in South Africa.

A correspondent of News Agency Nigeria, while quoting a presidential source, disclosed that full compensation was demanded by the Nigerian government.

The source speaking, “Nigeria would pull out of the World Economic Forum on Africa, scheduled for September 4-6 in Cape Town, South Africa”.

The decision to recall Ambassador Kabiru was reached in meeting held this morning in Abuja between President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Yemi Osinbanjo.
