Newly admitted Computer Science Education student of Lagos State University, Barnabas A Raji was all smiles on Tuesday when he finally got a mode of mobility, Wheel-Chair, which he disclosed to have since uplifted his spirits
According to Mr Jeariogbe Olaniyi, an official of the institution’s Centre for Information, Press and Public Relation, the kind gesture was done by the Students’ Affairs Division of the school.
Mr Jeariogbe briefed BlackBox Nigeria the plight of the undergraduate who got matriculated along with thousands of others early 2017.
He disclosed that the Barnabas’s status back then had him take pictures with him and posted it online. Help has since come to him from within the University Management.
Elated Barnabas on Tuesday patiently waited for the conclusion of the 61st Inaugural Lecture of the Citadel of Learning to reveal to Mr Jeariogbe how happy he was to have been mobilised with the chair.
He said, “I want to thank the Students’ Affairs Division, the Acting Dean, Students’ Affairs, Dr. Oluwafemi Obayori, Director, Centre for Nigerian General Studies, Prof. Abiodun Akinpelu and Assistant Registrar, Students’ Affairs Miss. Olubunmi Agosu for their contributions toward making my stay in LASU, so far, a memorable one.”
Fulfilled Mr Jeariogbe used the moment to appeal to all in the University Community to cultivate the habit of being each other’s keeper. He noted that everyone needs to play their part to make life a better place for all to live in.
