While Negotiation Is On-going, ASUU Wants Students With Business Ideas To Apply @TonyElumeluFDN

WHILE NEGOTIATION IS ON-GOING, ASUU WANTS STUDENTS WITH BUSINESS IDEAS TO APPLY @TONYELUMELUFDN

It has been over 80 days of back and forth between ASUU and FG

 

Not minding the current news making the rounds from the Presidency that the protracted strike embarked upon by the Association Staff Union of Universities, ASUU that has resulted to the close of public Universities nationwide will soon be over, the Union has come out to say contrary urging students and graduate alike with business ideas to apply for the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme.

ASUU declares UNILORIN a terrorist organization

ASUU took to its official Twitter handle @ASUUNGR in the early hours of the evening yesterday, Saturday February 3rd 2019 to express this stand.

 

The Tweet reads:

 

“While the union is negotiating with the Federal Government, @ASUUNGR wants students and graduates alike who have business ideas that needs funding and mentoring to apply for the @TonyElumeluFDN  12 weeks entrepreneurship kit.Deadline is midnight 1st March 2019.”

 

ASUU while sharing registration link to the proposed programme, further asked Nigerian students who are eager to go back to the class room after series of back and forth between the Union and the Federal Government to be part of this lofty entrepreneurial scheme which offers a $5000 grant to be won after a successful completion.

 

On the state of the strike, the union assured constant consultations with its Zonal members and promise to provide feedback to the Presidency.

 

ASUU also reiterated the issues that has necessitated the indefinite strike action.

The following are the issues ASUU has with the Federal government of Nigeria which has necessitated the indefinite strike action.

1.Refusal to honor the 2009 agreement.

2. 2013 MOU; funding for the revitalization of public universities; earned academic allowances
