In a recent development surrounding the late artiste, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has vehemently denied allegations of arresting and detaining the artist, as well as administering any substance to him.
This statement from the NDLEA comes in response to claims made by the Lagos State Police Command during a press conference on October 6, 2023, where they stated that they had not received a response from the NDLEA regarding social media allegations regarding MohBad’s arrest and detention.
In a formal response sent by the NDLEA to the police on September 28, 2023, the agency clarified its position on the matter.
The agency emphasized that MohBad had never been arrested or detained in their custody on the alleged date of February 24, 2022, or any other date before or after that.
Furthermore, the NDLEA refuted the claim that any substance had been given to the late artist.
To demonstrate the seriousness with which the NDLEA addressed the issue, the response was sent by flight to Lagos, delivered, and received by the police on the same day, September 28, 2023.
Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA Headquarters Abuja, reaffirmed the agency’s stance in the statement issued on October 7, 2023.
The agency also attached a copy of the acknowledged letter as evidence of its response to the police.
