NAFDAC Officials Shoot 70 Year-Old Trader At Singer MArket, Kano

 

Security officials attached to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) team on Wednesday killed a 70 year-old trader at the Singer Market, Kano State.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the officials of agency had invaded the market to raid it off sub-standard goods, a situation the traders did not welcome. At the end of the raid, goods worth N7m were reportedly impounded by the agency.

It was reported that an uprising started when the traders decided to barricade the officials as they described the raiding as unlawful, this was said to have prompted the enforcement officers attached to the officials to shoot into the air.

The shooting however ended killing one of the traders at the market. The death of the trader escalated the crisis in the market.
