Musa claims to have been hypnotised after strangling 7-months old daughter to death

30-year-old Nasiru Musa has claimed he wasn’t in his right senses when he strangled his seven months old child to death.

Musa who was engaged to be married to the baby’s mother reportedly acted like he was in a trance when he took the child from her sleeping mother to a nearby uncompleted building where he strangled her till she was dead.

The incident happened on May 20 at Salka village in the Magama Local Government Area of Niger state.

On waking up BlackBox Nigeria gathered, the mother raised an alarm which led to neighbours calling on the Police to come in and investigate. In the process of investigating, Nasiru Musa was fingered and subsequently arrested. He later confessed to the crime but claimed not to have been in a right frame of mind when he did it.

“I gave birth to my daughter out of wedlock and we (the mother and him) are preparing for our wedding before this happened. I cannot explain why I took her life; people will not believe me; it is like somebody hypnotised me I find it very difficult to explain,” Musa wailed as he was interview by newsmen.

He further spoke, “How am I going to explain to my fiancé what transpired? I know that is the end of (preparations for) the marriage; she will never forgive me and my friends will desert me.”

Musa however denied using the deceased child for ritual saying it was an abomination where he hails from.

Police authorities have further revealed that Musa will be charged to court soon once investigations are concluded. Police spokesman, Muhammad Abubakar added that the case is a straightforward one since the suspect has confessed to the crime.
