Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, the wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has firmly rejected the sexual harassment allegations made against her husband by Senator Natasha Akpoti.

In a recent interview, Mrs. Akpabio described the accusations as baseless and a product of unfounded fantasies.

The allegations, made by Senator Akpoti during a live interview on Arise TV, claim she was sexually harassed and victimized.

However, Mrs. Akpabio strongly refuted the claims, stating that she was at her family’s residence on the date the incident was alleged to have occurred—December 8, 2023—further emphasizing the absence of any evidence to support the accusations.

In her interview, Mrs. Akpabio also underscored the long-standing amicable relationship between their families, which predates Senator Akpoti’s marriage to her husband.

She commended her husband for his integrity, family values, and his consistent support for women’s inclusion in government, stressing that the allegations were out of line with the character she has known him to have.

“This is all baseless,” Mrs. Akpabio said.

“Our families have shared a long-standing cordial relationship. My husband has always been a strong advocate for women’s empowerment and inclusion in government.”

Mrs. Akpabio also condemned the spread of false allegations, urging women to refrain from making such damaging claims without evidence.

She vowed to pursue legal action against those responsible for tarnishing her family’s reputation.

The sexual harassment allegations, which have rocked the political landscape, continue to stir debate as Akpabio found enmeshed in a similar accusation in 2020 by ex-NDDC boss.
