Nollywood actor, John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, has received financial assistance from the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation for his medical treatment.
The foundation announced on its Facebook page on Friday that it had paid off all the medical bills of the comic star, who had appealed to Nigerians for help on social media.
Mr. Ibu, who has entertained millions of Nigerians with his hilarious roles in movies for over 40 years, said he was suffering from a serious ailment that could make him lose his legs.
He shared a video of himself on a hospital bed and asked for donations to his Access Bank account.
The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation, which is led by the former Senate President of Nigeria, said it felt obliged to support Mr. Ibu in his time of need.
The foundation also urged other well-meaning Nigerians to come forward and assist the actor in any way they could, whether through financial contributions, moral support, or prayers.
The foundation expressed its honour and gratitude to Mr. Ibu for bringing joy and laughter to countless homes and wished him a speedy and full recovery.
