Mr Eazi Announces Interest in Buying African Music Catalogues with Proven Earnings

Nigerian singer and music entrepreneur, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has announced his intention to buy African music catalogues from rights owners who can provide proof of ownership and a track record of earnings.

In a post shared on his X page, Mr Eazi wrote, “Btw I’m buying catalogues so if you got African music catalogue that you own (with proof) and you have 3 year earnings history and you wanna sell a piece contact @emPawaAfrica.”

The move appears to be part of his continued efforts to expand emPawa Africa, the music investment and label services company he founded to support emerging African artists.

The company has been instrumental in launching the careers of several Afrobeats stars and continues to position itself as a forward-thinking player in Africa’s fast-growing music industry.

By targeting music catalogues with a verified three-year earnings history, Mr Eazi is likely focusing on stable, revenue-generating assets offering rights holders the opportunity to cash out part of their stake in exchange for capital.

The development also reflects a broader trend in the global music business, where catalogues have become valuable commodities for investment due to their long-term earning potential through streaming, licensing, and sync deals.
