Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the host and creator of TVC’s flagship morning talk show Your View, has announced her resignation from TVC Communications after 12 impactful years.
Her departure marks the end of an era for one of Nigeria’s most influential broadcast platforms.
TVC Communications, owners of TVC News, TVC Entertainment, Max FM, Adaba FM, and Yanga FM, confirmed her resignation in an official statement released on Tuesday.
Afolabi-Brown, who also serves as the Managing Director of TVC Entertainment, will exit the organisation on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
Since launching Your View in 2013, Afolabi-Brown has hosted over 1,800 episodes, transforming the show into a leading platform for women’s voices and national discourse.
Under her leadership, the program became a staple of Nigerian morning television, known for its bold conversations and diverse perspectives.
Beyond her role as host, Afolabi-Brown served as Managing Director of TVC Entertainment, overseeing content strategy and programming.
Her tenure at TVC was marked by innovation and a commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices in media.
A graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Political Science, Afolabi-Brown returned to Nigeria in 2004, bringing with her a vision for transformative media.
She is the daughter of the late Alao Aka-Bashorun, a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, and has cited figures like Oprah Winfrey and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie as inspirations in her career.
In 2023, she published her memoir, Becoming the Queen of Talk TV, chronicling her journey in the broadcast industry and her mission to reorientate women and young people through media.
