The widow of late Nigerian singer and rapper, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has agreed to a DNA test to confirm the paternity of their son, Liam.

According to Punch, the development comes after Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, filed a legal request for the test.

The court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, initially directed both parties to explore alternative dispute resolution in July 2024. However, negotiations did not yield an agreement.

On October 27, a representative of the Aloba family’s legal team, Monisola Odumosu, confirmed that Omowunmi Aloba, Mohbad’s widow, agreed to the DNA test in the terms of settlement.

According to the settlement terms, the test will be conducted at an accredited medical facility in Lagos or another mutually acceptable location, with Mohbad’s father bearing all related expenses. The court also appointed officials to supervise the test to ensure its accuracy and integrity.

Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Music, passed away at 27, sparking widespread controversy. His death is under investigation by the Lagos State Police, who, in September 2023, formed a 13-man team to investigate.
