Man stabbed to death by women leader’s son for pasting APC poster 

The weekend was a dark one for the family of Chike Dike, a promising young man in his late 20s as he was stabbed to death in cold blood for pasting the campaign poster of a political candidate in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. 

Chike Dike, a non-politically partisan young man was reportedly contracted by Collyns Owondah, the All Progressives candidate of Port Harcourt LGA constituency II at the Federal House of Representatives to paste his campaign posters which led to his untimely death.

BlackBox Nigeria has gathered that while carrying out the duty, Chike Dike met his Waterloo as he tried to paste on the walls of the APC Woman leader in the area, Ifeoma Ekeozor who got into a fight with the now deceased young man. It was learnt that Ifeoma Ekeozor and her son, Henry Ekeozor prevented Chike from pasting on their wall despite being members of the same party with the candidate which led into a big fight. Henry according to eye witness quickly dashed to pick up a sharp knife which was used to stab Chike who collapsed immediately and bled to death. 

According to eye witness, Ifeoma did nothing to prevent her son as she was also reported to have broken a bottle during the fracas. 

BlackBox Nigeria further learnt that the event which happened on Saturday, January 5 around 8pm at 40B Azikiwe Street, Mile 2, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State was caused because the attacking family’s candidate lost during the primary election of the party. The fallout of the party primaries led to the aggrieved persons vowing to work against the party interest. This was what angered them when Chike Dike attempted pasting posters on their residence wall.

In the eyewitness’s account, “the young man pasting the campaign poster was Chimezie Dike from the Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State. The boy came to the street to paste the posters of a politician running for an election.

“In the process, the son of the woman leader began to quarrel with him and within a short time, the son of the woman stabbed Chimezie. He (Chimezie) died before he got to the hospital.”

The incident has also been confirmed by the Police PRO of the state, Nnamdi Omoni who accepted being aware of the incident although he is yet to be briefed by the Police DPO of the area.
