By The Edo State Police, Tuesday, arrested a suspect, simply identified as Kome, for allegedly killing and discreetly burying his cousin, one Usman Abdul Lateef, Blackboxnigeria gathered.
The deceased, who has been missing since Wednesday, 13, was said to have left home with his cousin to the Guarantee Trust Bank’s Automated Teller Machine in Auchi, Edo state, for a transaction but never returned.
The suspect was however taken in by the police for investigation as he was the last person who knew of the whereabouts of the deceased.
While investigations by the Auchi police division was ongoing, the family members of the deceased contacted the GTBank, Auchi branch, notifying the account manager of the development.
Subsequently, the bank noticed a transaction on the account of the deceased on Tuesday, May 19, while the transaction was ongoing, the bank notified the family members, which led to the arrest of Koma.
The suspect, while confessing to the crime, stated that he killed his cousin over a N2, 000, 000 land deal.
Adding that after burying the deceased along the Igarra road, he intended to withdraw the cash since he had the ATM card and secret number.
The body of the deceased have been recovered by the collaborative effort of the Auchi Police and Vigilante Squad.
