A newly appointed Magistrate in Lira, Uganda, has been arrested for a deceptive act that has rocked the legal community.
Musa Semwogerere, who recently received a promotion to the rank of grade one magistrate by the Judicial Service Commission, was apprehended by authorities.
The incident unfolded at the Law Development Centre (LDC) in Lira, where Semwogerere, also known by the alias Mukisa Anthony, disguised himself as a woman to sit for exams on behalf of his girlfriend, Irene Mutonyi.
This deceitful act has raised serious questions about the integrity and ethics of those entrusted with upholding the law.
Local media sources reported that the authorities caught Semwogerere red-handed during the exam session.
