Magboro Residents In Jubilation As Electricity Returns To Community After 10 Years
Residents of Magboro and communities in same environs are still amazed as electricity supply commenced after a long break of 10 years. BlackBox Nigeria gathered that hope has been lost after several years of promises by relevant bodies.
Until Thursday, August 10th, Magboro, Ibafo, Mowe and Aseshe have all been relying on generating power supply privately as they have been starved for electricity from the national grid, a situation that hampered business activities and force some residents to relocate.
A report by Punch revealed that some communities got connected to the national grid after they were supplied by Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc via a temporary line as the proposed Oke-Aro 33KVA was not ready for energisation. The connection however did not supply for long as the residents were thrown into the old blackout after a month.
Following the shoddy job carried out by the former contractor, a new contractor was assigned to energised the new line as it was inspected earlier in the month.
