#LYA2021: Meet nominees for ‘Most Outstanding Young Person in Entertainment’ category

On Boxing Day, December 26, the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Lagos will play host to the debut edition of the Lagos Youth Awards (LYA 2021), tagged ‘The Working Tribe’.

An initiative of BBN360, a thriving media company based in Lagos, Nigeria, in collaboration with some youth-based non-profit organizations, the Lagos Youth Awards will be celebrating 15 outstanding young people drawn from different sectors.

Take a look at the nominees in ‘Most Outstanding Young Person in Entertainment’ category.

• Mr Macaroni

Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni is a Nigerian actor, comedian, skit maker and activist. He is best known for his Instagram comedy videos where he plays the role of a “sugar daddy”. The 28-year-old is famous for the phrases, “Ooin” and “you are doing well”.

The Ogun State-born is also known for his contributions, as an activist, during the EndSARS protests. Mr Macaroni not only engaged himself physically during the protest, he also contributed to this year’s EndSARS memorial, which was held on October 20 in honour of those who lost their lives a year ago during the infamous shooting at Lekki tollgate.

• Tunde Sanni

Tunde Sanni, the brain behind Ikorodu Boiz, a Nigerian online comedy group, popularly known for recreating popular music videos, Hollywood movie trailers with household equipments, is a 23-year-old graduate of Psychology from the University of Lagos. He is a brother to Muiz and Malik Sanni.

Tunde is the one responsible for editing the trio’s comedy videos and managing the team in general.

• Made Kuti

Omorinmade Kuti professionally known as Made Kuti, is a Nigerian afrobeat singer, songwriter and instrumentalist.

Made is the son of Nigerian afrobeat musician, and grandson of afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti. He released his debut album–which earned him a Grammy award nomination– “For(e)ward, jointly with Femi Kuti’s “Stop the hate” on February, 5, 2021. The duo teamed together and titled the album “Legacy+”.

• Tomike Adeoye

Tomike Adeoye is a Nigerian actor, an entrepreneur, media personality, Microbiologist, red carpet host and award-winning brand influencer.

She starred in the sitcom, ‘Jenifa’s Diary’. In 2019, Tomike was nominated for the ELOY Awards for TV personality. The 26-year-old is married to Tosin Adeoye. The duo got married in the year 2019 and welcomed their first and only daughter sometime in July.
