In an effort to bolster their midfield, Liverpool are keen on preparing a £30m bid for versatile Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos.
The 32-year-old, according to Catalan outlet, El Nacional, has become a key target for Liverpool over a possible move in the summer transfer window. Though already at the peak of his career, Kroos’ versatility and loads of experience is highly commendable and will be a good addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad which already boasts of other topnotch players like Jordan Henderson, James Milner, and Thiago Alcantara.
Toni Kroos joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in July 2014. He has, over the years, established himself as one of the best playmaker of his era. With 25 goals and 83 assists in 340 appearances for the Galaticos, he has been a clinical tool for Madrid’s success over the years.
One of the unforgettable moments of the German’s stay at Real Madrid was his corner kick goal during a Spanish Super Cup Semi-final against Valencia in 2020. The rare ‘Olimpico’ goal, as described by CNN, was the first goal of its kind Madrid has scored since 1997 when Davor Sucker created a similar version against Merida.
Real Madrid are willing to let go of Toni Kroos who has less than 18 months left on his contract. His inclusion into Liverpool squad will bring a new dimension into Klopp’s team who are solely dependent on full-backs, Trent Alexandar-Arnold and Andrew Robertson for creativity.
However, the transfer deal, according to initial reports, might be difficult for Liverpool due to the player’s wish to end his playing career at the Santiago Bernabu. But to some extent, Liverpool stand a chance to secure his service as Kroos might consider the offer following Madrid’s willingness to offload him.
