The National Working Committee of Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has adjusted the dates for the primaries for all elective offices.

In a recent statement, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Lagos, Hakeem Amode confirmed the development, NAN reported.

According to the statement, the primary elections for State Houses of Assembly and the House of Representatives seats will now hold on May 22. However, that of the Senate and governorship remained May 23.

The new adjustment also affected the presidential primary which is now scheduled for May 28 and May 29.

This development comes barely two days after the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) announced that it has reviewed its timetable and schedule of activities, leading to a change in the dates for the primaries for all positions.
