By Like Ambode, APC Snubs Obaseki As Ize-Iyamu Emerges Edo State Governorship Candidate
A former Secretary to the Edo State Government, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has emerged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Edo State elections.
BlackBox NIgeria gathered from a source in Abuja, the nation’s capital, that Pastor Ize-Iyamu was adopted by the APC Edo Governorship Screening Committee and was presented by the Chairman of Committee, Senator Francis Alimikhena, in the presence of other delegates.
It was confirmed that the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki was sidelined as the Committee picked Ize-Iyamu ahead of him.
This development is same as how former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode was displaced by the ruling party in the build up to the 2019 General Elections.
Other members of the Screening Committee also present at the presentation were Lucky Imaseun, General Cecil Esekhaigbe, Thomas Okosun, Samson Osagie, Patrick Obahiagbon and Peter Akpatason.
